In this case – Abigail is the one with the brains and the beauty, but the brains must have failed her when she decided to marry Nabal. Isn’t it amazing that people that would normally be considered very bright – get very stupid when it comes to love? If there is EVER a time to use common sense – it is at that time, but many do not.

Description:David has an opportunity to take KIng Saul’s life and end all of his own pain, but he doesn’t take it. Instead, he tries yet again to assure King Saul that he means him no harm. Even David’s own army felt he would be justified killing Saul, but he was listening to another voice. To a higher call.

Political Religion
Description: It is possible for a person to be so prejudiced and bigoted that that they think they are doing something for the Lord – when they don’t even know who He is! Also – technically Saul was persecuting people not the Lord – but the Lord saw the persecution of His people the same as persecuting Him. This should make us cautious of how we treat other Christians.
ACTS 21 – SACRIFICE IS INCONVENIENT

Description: Covid has had a very negative influence on the church! In an effort to continuing feeding the church, many started broadcasting their services live. However in the process, many just quit going to church, to watch at home. The problem with that is that Spirit is willing but the flesh is weak and for a lot of folks – they are not even doing that.

A Promise is a Promise
Description:Saul is jealous of David and that jealousy is eating him up. He just wants David dead and out of the way. In essence he is fighting against the Lord, because the Lord doesn’t want David dead. He is to be the next King, so this is a battle that Saul CANNOT win.

Description: Fear can keep us being of greater use for the Lord! God was using Paul, but along with that came a fear that he would suffer for it. The Lord reassured him that it was going to be OK! Is fear keeping you from being your best? Perhaps from even doing anything?

Description: It is interesting that the Pharisees and the Sadducees believed in entirely different things, but they come together when they feel threatened! The healing of the lame man threatens all they believe in and even their positions in society. They, in turn, threaten Peter and John to never speak of or teach in the name of Jesus!
